Auckland Come 2nd at Wisden Cup |
 |
Auckland 1 came 2nd at the Wisden
Cup only losing 1 tie to Waikato who went on to win Wisden.
Congratulations to Waikato in a fitting tribute to the
late Peter Icke on winning Wisden and to Canterbury for
winning the Slazenger Cup. Auckland 2 fought really hard
and had a close 8 all match to Southland just losing on a
countback. Both Auckland 1 and Auckland 2 teams fought
with the trademark guts and determination that are the
hallmarks of Auckland rep teams. Next year Auckland will
have 1 team in Wisden and 1 in Slazenger.
