Feng was selected in
China before turning just 12 years of age to be trained in
badminton. As a runner she had no prior knowledge of the
sport but over time was very successful. She made the
Chinese National Badminton Squad - one of the most highly
competitive badminton squads in the world. She not only
learned about high performance she has lived it. As a young
girl thrust into a tough high performance environment she has
a unique perspective on the challenges and what it takes to
make and develop a top junior badminton athlete.

Feng is very
familiar with the NZ coaching scene having been in NZ
since 1995. She played for NZ for 3 years
dominating the womens singles in NZ and even making the
semi finals of a mens tournament containing the top mens
player in NZ at the time. After a knee injury cut
short her NZ playing career she focused full time on
coaching.

seeking and training young athletes with true high performance
talent and training them in the art of top badminton.
These players will also be feeding through the Auckland rep
system.
Places are
limited and there will be a selection process and criteria
before entry is confirmed into the academy but you can

training. Badminton is one of the most demanding sports
in the world in terms of changing direction and lightness on
feet - this can be of huge benefit to top school or elite
teams in such sports as

quick change of direction and quick recovery of the feet.
